The Vegas Golden Knights got goals from five different players and had 12 players get on the scoresheet in a 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday.

William Karlsson scored for the second straight game, and Jack Eichel notched his fourth goal in the first seven games for the Knights (6-2-0). Adin Hill finished with 25 saves and improved to 3-0.

Trevor Connelly, Brett Howden and Tomas Hertl also scored. The Knights improved to 56-30-13 all-time in the second games of back-to-backs.

The Knights played for the second time in 24 hours. Nashville (2-2-2) suited up for the first time since Saturday.

The discrepancy in the gap between days benefited the Knights, given that they were trying to forget the disappointing 4-2 loss in Minnesota on Monday.

The Knights emptied the tank in the third period with two insurance goals from Connelly and Howden coming 1:35 apart to push the lead to three.

Connelly leads all rookies with three goals. Howden added an assist to give him four points in the past four games.

Slow start

The Knights didn’t get off to the kind of start that would end the rest versus rust debate. A turnover from defenseman Shea Theodore sprung an odd-man rush for the Predators. Center Ryan O’Reilly scored on a rebound 3:55 in to put the Knights down early.

But the Knights answered with two goals directly after killing penalties. Hertl scored with a snipe off the rush at 6:46 to tie it, and Eichel tipped home a nifty pass from defenseman Brayden McNabb at 12:48 for his fourth goal of the year.

Still no power play

The one area that didn’t improve from Monday was the power play. After going 0 for 5 on the man advantage in Minnesota, the Knights failed tremendously on their first power play Tuesday.

Nashville forward Adam Edstrom got behind Eichel, gathered the loose puck once Hill was out of position and scored short-handed at 8:45 of the second to tie it.

The Knights went 0 for 2 on Tuesday.

Karlsson restored the lead with a goal for the second straight game, firing a wrist shot from the top of the right circle with 2:16 left in the period to make it 3-2.

Hill stopped all 10 shots he faced in the third period.
