Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers passes Brett Favre for 4th-most passing touchdowns in NFL history

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Aaron Rodgers is now No. 4 all time in NFL passing touchdowns in the regular season.
Rodgers passed his Packers predecessor and former teammate Brett Favre when he tossed up a 12-yard score to DK Metcalf in the end zone Sunday against the Patriots at Gillette Stadium. He saw Metcalf with single coverage from Carlton Davis III and put it in the air for Metcalf, who made an incredible toe-tapping grab to give the Steelers a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter.
The list now goes Tom Brady (649), Drew Brees (571), Peyton Manning (539), then Rodgers (509). Rodgers tied Favre in last week’s loss to the Seahawks and he was already one ahead of Favre if you include their postseason stats, too.
Manning’s number is attainable if Rodgers keeps throwing touchdowns at his current clip, but if this is his final season, he’ll likely have to settle for top three. The Steelers now can claim two passers in the top 10, as Ben Roethlisberger’s 418 touchdown passes place him eighth in league history.
Rodgers actually hit another milestone, too, earlier in the game. He passed Philip Rivers for sixth-most passing yards in regular season history. Roethlisberger is next on the list, and Rodgers almost certainly will bump him from the top five.
