NEW YORK — After the All-Star break, the Detroit Pistons continued their strong performance, demonstrating why they hold the best winning percentage in the league.

Inside Madison Square Garden, the Pistons won their seventh game in eight tries, a 126-111 victory over the New York Knicks on Thursday night.

Cade Cunningham delivered an MVP-caliber performance, finishing with 42 points on 17-of-33 shooting, to go with 13 assists and seven rebounds. He tallied 22 points in the first half.

The two-time All-Star carried much of the scoring load for the Pistons (41-13) against the Knicks, but he still had some help on the offensive end.

Paul Reed contributed 18 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, while Tobias Harris finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks (35-21) with 33 points.
