Last month's Emmy winner for best limited series tops the DVD releases for the week of Oct. 13.

"DTF St. Louis": HBO's seven-episode drama stars Jason Bateman as TV weatherman Clark Forrest, whose friendship with financially struggling ASL interpreter Floyd Smernitch (David Harbour) gets complicated when he gets involved with Smernitch’s wife, Carol (Linda Cardellini).

On the surface, it looked like a limited series straight out of the HBO playbook, a murder mystery driven by sex and midlife ennui," wrote Los Angeles Times columnist Glenn Whipp ahead of the 2026 Emmy Awards. "Floyd (Harbour) joins a hookup app looking for sex and winds up dead. His wife, Carol (Cardellini), has been having a kinky affair with weatherman Clark (Bateman). Meanwhile, Clark and Floyd strike up a deep friendship, easing their suburban loneliness. But it turns out that these are not bad people. They just make bad decisions. And by the end we feel for all of them."

NEW ON DVD OCT. 16

"Finding Emily": Arriving Friday, this British rom-com starring Angourie Rice and Spike Fearn follows a musician teaming with a driven psychology student to find his dream girl.

OUT ON DIGITAL HD OCT. 13

"Practical Magic 2": The sequel to the 1998 film sees the witchy Owens sisters trying to break their family love curse, with Joey King and Maisie Williams joining returning stars Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing.

"Runner": The large and almost always in charge Alan Ritchson stars in this action comedy thriller as a man tasked with transporting a donor liver to a sick girl who must protect it from mercenaries out to take it. Owen Wilson co-stars in the movie helmed by Scott Waugh.

"Hope": A group of people fight back against a creature that rampages through a Korean village in director Na Hong-jin’s action flick featuring Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender.
