NEW YORK — Two people were taken into custody after a shooting outside a popular Florida casino, which left Migos rapper Offset seriously wounded, according to reports.

The gunfire erupted shortly after 7 p.m. in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood on Monday, according to the Seminole Police Department.

“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored,” a representative for the 34-year-old hip-hop artist told several media outlets.

Rapper Lil Tjay was arrested on the scene for his involvement in a fight that occurred ahead of the shooting, according to TMZ. The Bronx native, born Tione Jayden Merritt, was booked into the Broward County Jail for misdemeanor disorderly conduct-affray, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. He is being held on $500 bond.

A lawyer for Tjay released a statement late Monday night denying her client’s rumored involvement in the incident. ”Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false,” attorney Dawn M. Florio wrote.

A second person was also taken into custody Monday night, but they have not yet been charged.

“The site is secure and there is no threat to the public,” police said, adding that an investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Few other details about the shooting have been provided, including what may have caused the violence.

Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is a former member of the hip-hop trio Migos, and he was previously married to Grammy winner Cardi B. They share three children together: Kulture Kiari Cephus, Wave Set Cephus, and Blossom Belle Cephus.

The shooting comes some four years after fellow Migos rapper Takeoff was fatally shot outside of a Houston club after attending a party with uncle Quavo, another Migos member.

Speaking with Variety in 2023, Offset admitted he was still struggling with losing his friend.

“It’s hard for me to talk about s– right now. I’ve never talked about this stuff. Seriously,” he said. “Talking about Take is hard, man. Talking about all this s– is hard. That’s why I don’t, to be honest. That s– hurts. Like, it’s gonna put me in a mood, and I don’t want to get in that mood.”
