'PROJECT HAIL MARY'

What it’s about: An unassuming science teacher finds himself alone in space trying to save the world and befriending an alien.

The kid attractor factor: This sweet and heartwarming sci-fi epic appeals mostly to adults but might draw kids as well with its epic spectacle and cute characters.

Good lessons/bad lessons: We all need to learn to work together to save ourselves.

Violence: Some perilous situations.

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: OK for older kids if they are into sci-fi. Some mature existential themes.

'READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME'

 

Rated R for strong bloody violence, gore, pervasive language and brief drug use.

What it’s about: A young woman and her sister have to outlive the murderous attempts of a satanic billionaire cult in a bloody game of hide-and-seek.

The kid attractor factor: This horror comedy is hyper-violent and not for kids.

Good lessons/bad lessons: No one has your back like a sister.

Violence: Extreme bloody violence throughout, stabbings, shootings, beatings, gore, etc.

Language: Excessive swearing throughout.

Sex: None

Drugs: Brief onscreen cocaine use.

Parents’ advisory: Too violent for kids. OK for older teens.
