Olivia Rodrigo listens to Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill whenever she wants to lift her spirits.

The 22-year-old pop star is a huge fan of Alanis' 1995 album, which featured hits such as Hand in My Pocket and Ironic, explaining that the record reminds her of "what [she's] trying to go after" in life.

Asked which album helps her to "reconnect" with herself, Olivia told the Music Makes Us podcast: "Honestly, I listen to [Alanis Morissette's] Jagged Little Pill when I'm feeling, like, I don't know what to say or like, who am I?

"For some reason that album, just like, every part of what makes a human being a human being, it feels like it's encapsulated in that record."

The brunette beauty - who has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years - noted that "there's so much anger and spite and jealousy but also so much joy and hope, all like intertwined into each other in such a beautiful way".

Olivia added: "I f****** love that album as everyone on the planet does but I just think, it reminds me what I'm trying to go after."

Olivia actually became a global star amid the COVID-19 lockdown, and she previously suggested that the unique circumstances helped her to cope with the extra attention.

The pop star observed that lockdown kept her "out of the hullabaloo".

Speaking to the BBC, Olivia explained: "It helped me keep my sanity when there was so much drama going on. Being in isolation with people I loved and cared about kept me out of the hullabaloo."

Olivia released her Sour album back in 2021, and she believes lockdown actually helped to speed-up the release of her breakthrough record.

The singer - who previously starred in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series - said: "Had I been going to press junkets, and performing on late night [TV], I wouldn't have had the confidence in writing the record that I did."
