AJ McLean has invited Taylor Swift to perform with the Backstreet Boys at their Las Vegas Sphere residency.

A mash-up of Taylor Swift's Elizabeth Taylor and the '90s boy band's hit Everybody (Backstreet's Back), created by Lydia Getachew, recently went viral after AJ shared it on his Instagram page.

And, after listing off Coldplay, Lenny Kravitz, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers as the artists he'd like to perform with, AJ said he would love to share the stage with the Fate of Ophelia singer and invited her down to their Into The Millennium residency at the state-of-the-art venue in Sin City.

He told the outlet: "I don't know if she'd ever do it, but I think Taylor [Swift] would absolutely destroy it.

"She is a fan, and we're a massive fan of hers.

"I mean, she's the sweetest. She's been so kind to my daughters anytime that we've had a chance to hang out and meet her at her shows. She's just the best."

AJ said it would "break the planet" if they performed the mash-up in real life.

He said: "Taylor, if you want, come see the show first, so you know what's going on. And then you can figure out if you want to come up with us.

"We're not going to say no."

The 47-year-old singer recently shared a clip of himself dancing to the viral mash-up, captioning the post: "Come on now you know one of us had to! @taylorswift !"

Swift, 35, responded: "OH HI AJ OH MY GOD."

Getachew commented: "OMG you using my mix JUST MADE MY WEEKEND thank you for the love! (sic)"

As it stands, the band's residency runs through until February 11.
