Guy House, the man who shot and killed two people at Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington after shooting a Kentucky State Police trooper at Blue Grass Airport on Sunday, had a lengthy criminal history and faced a recent domestic violence restraining order by an ex-girlfriend.

Family members of the women killed said House, 47, was at the church on Old Richmond Road looking for the mother of his three children, whom the Herald-Leader is not identifying.

Police shot and killed House after his crime spree.

Here’s what we know so far about Guy House:

Guy House’s restraining order

House had a long criminal history of mostly drug crimes. But a recent girlfriend, whom the Herald-Leader is not naming, filed for a domestic violence restraining order against him this summer.

House and the woman lived together before she broke things off with him earlier this month, she told the Herald-Leader in an interview Monday.

Court documents say he had begun menacing her in recent months, including threatening to get her fired and continuously keeping track of her location.

When she broke things off with him July 4, he stole her car, driver’s license and several guns, she said.

In the restraining order, the woman wrote that she did not feel safe in her home, and House was armed and dangerous.

The order was approved July 5 by Judge Ross Ewing. House was ordered to remain more than 500 feet away from his ex-girlfriend, and a hearing was scheduled for Monday morning.

Guy House’s history

House was convicted of at least seven previous crimes before Sunday’s spree.

Most recently, House was sentenced by Fayette Circuit Judge Julie Goodman in early 2023 to two years of probation for possession of a firearm, first-degree fleeing/evading police and auto theft, among other charges.

House violated his probation, though, testing positive for drugs several times, and his probation officer filed a request to have his probation revoked and a warrant be issued for his arrest. Court documents say House was arrested for his probation violation on Dec. 11, 2024.

But in January of this year, he was freed from probation.

In House’s personal life, he had at least three children and was an aspiring rapper with the stage name “HonKyKong.” There is a video on Lex Lanta’s YouTube page featuring House performing one of his tracks, “Struggle Made Me.”

The video has generated more than 18,000 views. House’s Facebook page also has more than 9,000 followers.
