One person was killed and at least 13 more wounded in a mass shooting at a family barbecue in Houston early Sunday morning, police said.

None of the victims has been publicly identified, and officials said Sunday they did not know the ages of all the victims.

Cops detained multiple people at the scene on Houston’s southeast side, but Assistant Police Chief Patricia Cantu said it was unclear if the main suspect was among them.

“We have multiple people detained for information (who) may or may not be the suspect,” Cantu said at an early Sunday news briefing.

The first calls of a shooting came in around 12:50 a.m. from a house, authorities said. Officers arrived just three minutes later, with gunfire still audible as they pulled up to the scene, according to Cantu.

Witnesses said the violence began when an uninvited guest showed up at the party, Cantu said. He was asked to leave, and he initially complied.

“He left. As he was leaving, he began shooting in the area,” Cantu said. “There was return fire from the residence as well.”

While the uninvited guest was the initial shooter, cops were hoping to speak with anyone at the home who witnessed the gunfire.

Cantu said multiple people were in critical condition and undergoing surgery, while “a few” were in stable condition.
